Your Bhutan adventure begins on Day 1 with your arrival in Paro and a drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. You'll arrive at Paro International Airport, where our representative will be there to greet you. Bhutan's airport is nestled amidst the Himalayan Mountains, providing you with a spectacular entry to the country. After your arrival, you will embark on a scenic drive from Paro to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The distance between Paro and Thimphu is approximately 53 kilometres (about 32 miles), and the journey is expected to take around 1 hour. Enjoy the picturesque drive as you travel through winding roads with beautiful hamlets along the way. En-Route Visit:

Simtokha Dzong: As you journey from Paro to Thimphu, you will visit Simtokha Dzong. According to legend, Simtokha Dzong was constructed to subdue an evil spirit that was causing harm to the local people and to protect the area. Simtokha is considered to be the first dzong built in Bhutan and serves as a gateway to the Thimphu Valley.

Upon reaching Thimphu, you will check in to your hotel. Take some time to freshen up and recover from your journey.

Visit to Tashichho Dzong: After settling in, you will visit Tashichho Dzong, one of the most impressive and significant structures in Thimphu. Also known as the "fortress of the Dharma Raja," Tashichho Dzong has traditionally been the seat of the Druk Desi, the head of Bhutan's civil government. This dzong serves both administrative and religious purposes.

Tashichho Dzong is open during weekdays after office hours, starting from 5:00 p.m. onwards.

On weekends, you can visit the dzong from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In the evening, you'll have leisure time to explore Thimphu at your own pace. Stroll around the city, interact with the friendly locals, and enjoy the peaceful ambience of Bhutan's capital. On the second day, Bhutan adventure in Thimphu, you will explore various cultural and historical landmarks.

Memorial Chorten (Thimphu Chorten): Your day starts with a visit to the Memorial Chorten, also known as the Thimphu Chorten. This impressive Tibetan-style Buddhist Monastery is characterized by its golden spires and bells. It stands as a prominent landmark and is one of the most recognizable religious structures in Thimphu. Take in the serene atmosphere and observe locals as they come to pay their respects.

National Library of Bhutan: After lunch, you will visit the National Library of Bhutan. This four-storied, eight-cornered traditional building resembles the central tower temple of a Bhutanese Dzong. The library holds a valuable collection of books and manuscripts related to Bhutan, Himalayan studies, and Buddhism.

Folk Heritage Museum: Continue your cultural exploration with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum. Housed inside a 19th-century, three-storied traditional building, this museum was established in 2001. It offers insights into the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle by displaying tools, materials, objects, equipment, and artefacts from rural Bhutanese households. Get a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan.

National Institute of Traditional Medicine: Your next stop is the National Institute of Traditional Medicine. Established in 1988, this institute aims to bridge the gap between traditional and allopathic systems of healing. On the third day, your Bhutan trip takes you on a scenic drive from Thimphu to Punakha, with several interesting stops along the way. Your journey begins with a picturesque drive from Thimphu to Dochula Pass. This mountain pass, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, offers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayan range. It's a fantastic spot for capturing the beauty of the snow-capped peaks, especially on clear winter days.

Stop at Dochula Pass: Take your time to explore Dochula Pass, where you can stroll around, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and admire the stunning scenery. The pass is also famous for its 108 chortens (stupas), built in honour of Bhutanese soldiers who lost their lives in 2003 during a conflict with Indian rebels.

Chimi Lhakhang: Continue your journey to Punakha and make a stop at Chimi Lhakhang. This unique and charming monastery, also known as the "Temple of the Divine Madman," sits atop a round hillock near Punakha. It was built in 1499 in honour of Lama Drukpa Kinley, who is renowned for his unconventional teaching methods and the promotion of phallus symbols. Explore the temple and its surroundings, which are adorned with prayer flags.

Punakha Dzong: Arrive in Punakha and visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, also known as "the palace of great happiness or bliss." This dzong is one of Bhutan's most impressive and historically significant structures. It was constructed in 1673 and served as the administrative centre and the seat of the Government of Bhutan until 1955 when the capital was moved to Thimphu.

On the fourth day, the Bhutan journey in Punakha, you'll embark on a scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Punakha to energize the day's activities.

After breakfast, you will set out on a captivating hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. This beautiful 4-story temple is situated on a ridge above the Punakha valley and is a remarkable example of Bhutanese architecture and artistic traditions. The hike is relatively moderate, making it suitable for most fitness levels. Approximately 1 hour. Along the trail, you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the Punakha Valley and the surrounding landscapes.

Once you reach the Chorten, take your time to explore its intricate architecture and interior artwork. The Chorten was constructed to promote peace, stability, and harmony, with a focus on the well-being of the kingdom, its people, and all sentient beings. You can soak in the serene ambience of this sacred place while learning about its spiritual significance.

After your hike and explorations, enjoy a delicious lunch at the chorten or back at your hotel, depending on your preference. On the fifth Day, you will be driving back to Paro from Punakha and visiting the National Museum and Paro Dzong.  Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Punakha, preparing you for the journey ahead. After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive from Punakha to Paro. This journey will take you through the picturesque Bhutanese countryside, offering views of lush valleys, winding rivers, and charming villages. En Route Sightseeing:

Dochula Pass (Optional Stop): If you didn't have the opportunity to visit Dochula Pass on your way to Punakha, you can consider making a stop here on your return journey. Dochula Pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, and on clear days, the sight is truly spectacular.

Visit the National Museum: Upon your arrival in Paro, your first stop will be the National Museum of Bhutan, also known as Ta-dzong. This unique circular building was originally an ancient watchtower above the Paro Dzong. The museum houses an extensive collection of Bhutanese art, artefacts, textiles, and historical relics, offering insights into the rich culture and history of Bhutan.

Take your time to explore the various galleries and exhibits that showcase Bhutan's cultural heritage, religious traditions, and historical significance. The museum's circular design and architectural details make it an intriguing attraction in itself.

Visit Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong): After visiting the museum, proceed to Paro Dzong, also known as Rinpung Dzong. Chele La Pass (Optional Stop): Depending on the route chosen, you may pass by Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. This pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, and you can stop to capture some memorable photographs.

Exploring Haa Valley: Haa Valley Arrival: Upon reaching Haa Valley, you will be greeted by its serene and unspoiled beauty. Haa Valley is known for its lush greenery, terraced fields, and traditional Bhutanese architecture.

Cultural Interaction: Explore the valley and interact with the residents to gain insights into their culture and way of life. Bhutanese people in Haa Valley are known for their warm hospitality.

On the seventh Day, you'll hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) and explore other significant cultural sites in Paro. After having breakfast at your hotel in Paro, prepare for a challenging yet rewarding hike to Taktsang Monastery. Begin your hike to Taktsang Monastery, one of the most famous and revered religious sites in Bhutan. The hike itself is a memorable experience, offering stunning views and a sense of spirituality.

The round-trip hike to Taktsang Monastery typically takes around 4.5 hours, including breaks. Along the way, you'll enjoy panoramic views of Paro Valley and its lush landscapes. Capture the breathtaking scenery and the iconic image of the monastery clinging to the cliffside. Explore Taktsang Monastery, which is not only a place of deep religious significance but also an architectural marvel. Visit its chapels and shrines, and soak in the spiritual atmosphere.

Drukgyel Dzong: After lunch, visit Drukgyel Dzong, a historical fortress that once served as an administrative centre. While the dzong was destroyed by fire, you can still explore its ruins and appreciate the remnants of its grandeur. Kyichu Lhakhang: Located near Paro Airport, Kyichu Lhakhang is one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples, dating back to the 7th century. Explore this historic temple, admire its architecture, and participate in the peaceful ambience.

After you’re cultural and hiking adventures, return to your hotel in Paro in the late afternoon or early evening. Enjoy dinner at your hotel's restaurant or explore Paro town for dining options.
