Beginning your trek in the Haa Valley at an elevation of 2,670 meters, you’ll follow an unpaved motor road for less than an hour. Staying to the left of the villages, the path winds through picturesque landscapes. As you gradually ascend, you’ll pass yak herders’ camps on the right side of the trail, where the route forks. It is advisable to steer clear of the left trail, which heads toward the summer yak herding grounds and the Chinese border.
